Company Overview

Bayside Search Group is currently working with a dynamic Retailer/Wholesaler that is currently looking for a an “Executive Vice President of Operations” who has a strong retail field operations and merchandising experience in their background.

The EVP of Operations shall oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the business transactions, work with leadership and subsidiaries to implement operational standards, policies, and procedures and execute transactions efficiently and effectively, and assist the CEO and President with the administration and management of the corporate office team.


General Responsibilities:

  • Together with the CEO and President, develop, plan, communicate and implement companies vision, mission and overall direction
  • Maintain and foster culture of excellence, execution, ethics, collaboration and sense of urgency
  • Provide recommendations for, and where appropriate, implement and enforce policies and procedures designed to maintain and improve the general administration and operational effectiveness of the business.
  • Ensure best practices are institutionalized

Transaction Operations:

  • Lead, motivate, guide, and oversee all aspects of the transactional operations (including financial operations) of the business
  • Manage, direct, and work with the senior operations team to prioritize resources and employees based on short-term transactional opportunities versus long-term or daily responsibilities
  • Manage, direct, and work with the Marketing and Advertising departments
  • Oversee and manage the assignment of all project resources, including Project Lead, Financial Lead, and field consultants, and listen and react to the ideas, concerns and needs of the operational and field teams.
  • Identify, develop, and execute the transaction and deal structures consistent with transaction documents and models, including reviewing transaction documents and interfacing with the operations and capital planning teams throughout the process
  • Participate in Credit Committee, Investment Committee, and other committee meetings
  • Domestic and international travel required
  • This is a full time, in person and based in the Chicago suburbs (This is not a remote position)


Must Have Qualifications

  • 10+ years of retail operations management experience
  • Broad retail, general merchandise and operation experience, preferably with a large volume general merchant such as a department store, big box operation or high volume specialty operation
  • Ability to lead, plan and manage change
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong prioritization and delegation skills.
  • Exceptional time management, judgement and decision-making ability
  • Strong analytical skills needed to analyze transactional data, quickly identify opportunities or problems and implement immediate solutions
  • Solid working knowledge of operations, budgeting and strategic planning
  • Proven leadership abilities
